Troubleshooting

Start with the problem that matches yours. If none does, the last section tells you how to reach us.

New songs do not appear in the library

Press Refresh. The library rescans when Auralyn opens or when you press Refresh, and it does not watch folders, so files you add later appear after one of those.

A file is not in the library or will not play

Check it against the formats list. WMA and AVI files are not indexed yet. A track that cannot play is skipped with a notice.

The library holds up to 100,000 songs and videos.

A video plays without sound

DTS and TrueHD sound are not supported yet, so videos that use them play without sound. AC-3 and E-AC-3 sound (Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus) are supported.

Subtitles do not show

Text subtitles from the file, or from a separate .srt, .vtt or .ass file, are supported. Picture subtitles such as PGS are not supported yet.

Gapless or crossfade does not seem to work

Gapless, crossfade and volume leveling apply only to local audio files up to 64 MiB. Gapless needs numbered tracks from the same album with shuffle off, and is not proven for every MP3 or AAC encoder.

A smart playlist has nothing in it

Some smart playlists need listening history first. History is on by default, and you can pause or reset it.

A media server does not work

Auralyn works with Navidrome, Gonic, Jellyfin, Emby, WebDAV and SMB network folders you have already mounted in macOS. Each server type was tested against one version with test music. See adding your media servers.

A licence will not activate

Activating a licence needs an internet connection.

Contact support

In Auralyn, choose Help → Export Diagnostics, then email support@ironlabstech.com with what it produces and a note on what happened and what you expected.

The diagnostics file lists versions, settings, library counts and recent log lines. It holds no file paths, song or artist names, email addresses or keys, and nothing is sent until you email it. Read it before you share it.

Quick answers are on Support.
