Using Auralyn

Your library

Auralyn builds one library from the folders and servers you add: tags, covers, search, albums and artists.

How much it holds

Up to 100,000 songs and videos.

When the library updates

The library rescans when Auralyn opens, or when you press Refresh. It does not watch folders, so new files appear after one of those. WMA and AVI files are not indexed yet.

Duplicates

Duplicate cleanup shows one entry per song and lets you choose which copy plays. It never deletes files. Only byte-identical copies are merged automatically.

Tags and artwork

You can correct titles, artists and covers without touching your files. Edits live in Auralyn only.

Playlists

You can import and export M3U and M3U8 playlists. Exported playlists list local file paths.

Lyrics

Auralyn shows time-synced lyrics from your own LRC files. Optional online lookups are covered in privacy and online features.

Listening history and mixes

Your listening history stays on your Mac. It is on by default, and you can pause or reset it. History drives your mixes and smart playlists.

Home mixes, song and artist radio and Autoplay are built from your own library on your Mac. They work without a network request or an AI model. Some smart playlists need listening history first.
