Using Auralyn
Adding your media servers
Auralyn can play from your own media servers as well as from folders on your Mac. It is not a streaming service: there is no catalogue to subscribe to.
What you can add
- Folders on your Mac
- Navidrome
- Gonic
- Jellyfin
- Emby
- WebDAV
- SMB network folders you have already mounted in macOS
They all end up in the same library, with tags, covers, search, albums and artists.
Navidrome and Gonic are Subsonic-compatible servers, and each has its own choice in Add source. For a server, enter its address, your username and your password. Auralyn keeps the password encrypted on your Mac.
SMB network folders
Auralyn works with SMB network folders that you have already mounted in macOS. Mount the share in macOS first.
What has been tested
Each server type was tested against one version of that server with test music. Offline copies have been proven with test servers only.
If a server does not work for you, email support@ironlabstech.com and tell us which server and version it is.
Scrobbling
Your listening history stays on your Mac. Plays are sent to your own Navidrome or Subsonic server only if you turn on scrobbling.
Your files
Your media files are never uploaded.
