Auralyn is a desktop player for the music you own. Your files, your folders and your own servers, in one calm library, with mixes built only from what you already have.

No streaming service. Your media files are never uploaded, and mixes and radio work without a network request or an AI model.

01 · Library

Your files, folders and servers in one library.

Tags, covers, search, albums and artists, built from the folders you add, plus Navidrome, Gonic, Jellyfin, Emby, WebDAV and SMB folders you have mounted.

Up to 100,000 songs and videos. The library rescans at launch or when you press Refresh.

02 · Now Playing

The background follows the album art, and a live line traces loudness as the song plays. A reduced-motion setting stops the movement.

03 · Home

Mixes made only from what you already own.

Home mixes, song and artist radio and Autoplay similar songs, shaped by your own listening history.

Built on your Mac, without a network request or an AI model. History is on by default; you can pause or reset it.

Everything here works in today's pre-release build on our Apple-silicon test Mac and is planned for 1.0. Each item lists its current limits.

100,000

One library from your files, folders and servers

Up to 100,000 songs and videos, with tags, covers, search, albums and artists. Duplicate cleanup keeps one entry per song and never deletes files.

The library rescans at launch or when you press Refresh; it does not watch folders. WMA and AVI files are not indexed yet.

Band equalizer

Ten bands, from 31 Hz to 16 kHz.

The EQ affects Auralyn only.

0–12 s

Crossfade and gapless albums

Plus volume leveling.

These apply only to local audio files up to 64 MiB. Leveling sets one fixed gain per track; it is not ReplayGain.

Mixes and radio from your library only

Home mixes, song and artist radio, Autoplay similar songs, “Shape this session”, and more-like-this or less-like-this feedback. They are worked out on your Mac from your own collection and listening history.

They work without a network request or an AI model. Some smart playlists need listening history first.

Your files stay as they are

Fix tags and artwork inside the app without rewriting your files.

Edits live in Auralyn only. Only byte-identical copies are merged automatically.

Synced lyrics

Time-synced lyrics from your own LRC files.

This covers lyrics files you provide.

macOS media controls

Control Center, Now Playing and the Play/Pause key.

Checked so far on one Mac running macOS 27.

Now Playing

Colours from the cover. A live loudness line.

The background takes its colours from the album art. A graph traces how loud the song is right now. Turn on reduced motion and the movement stops.

Privacy

Your music stays on your device. Your media files are never uploaded.

Listening history and recommendations are kept on your Mac. Some optional features go online, such as lyrics and artist info.
